Watching Generation Kill, it never occurred to me to think of Stark Sands' adorable woobie officer, Lt. Nate Fick as anything other than a baby-faced cutie who is frequently badass. I mean, look at  him! He's almost too twee to fit the bill of the steely, bulky hardcore Marine:

Whooo...finished Generation Kill today and the final scene was as understated as it was heartbreaking. There is no final resolution which makes sense because this isn't a series with a linear plot narrative but more like a moment caught in time and then retold. Yeah, Generation Kill is a total guy series, gritty and unapologetic, and the soldiers in it are hardly modeled after the "Greatest Generation" of WWII, but it is fascinating, addictive, and has some of the best black humor ever. Well, Alexander Skarsgard is hot but I'm sort of digging Stark Sands' Lieutenant Nate Fick. He may be baby-faced but the guy's got some steel in him and he won't take shit from anyone. And I cheered when he told off a jerk enlisted sergeant in episode 5 who had been talking smack about him behind his back.
